Positional Summary:
• This position is responsible for maximizing disposition proceeds from the sale of notes and owned real estate from various sources including CMBS trusts, CDOs and one-off assignments. He/she will use seasoned, investment sales expertise to develop creative disposition strategies and execute them.
• Interface with third party investment sales, brokers and note sale advisors.
• Establish fair market value of loan collateral held in various CMBS trusts.
• Underwrite potential acquisitions.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Generate, recommend and execute disposition strategies for notes and owned real estate.
• Develop RFPs for sales assignments, interview investment sales brokerage companies and award contracts.
• Manage and direct all investment sales brokerage companies’ activities.
• Review portfolio of delinquent notes and make recommendations to senior management as to which ones to market for sale.
• Work with loan and real estate asset managers to liquidate assets.
• Manage a list of potential note and owned real estate investors.
• Manage a list of potential third party investment sales brokerage companies.
• Solicit third party business.
• Lead and coordinate underwriting CRE from various sources including CMBS trusts, to establish fair market value.
• Lead, coordinate and interface with internal and external clients for potential CRE, acquisitions and distressed debt.
Skills/Experience Requirements:
• Undergraduate degree with major or substantial coursework in real estate or finance preferred. Graduate degree a plus.
• Outstanding writing and oral presentation skills.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with investment sales and/or ownership disposition of commercial real estate collateralized notes and commercial real estate.
• Experience negotiating third party listing agreements, purchase and sale agreements and closing settlement documents.
• Strong financial, analytical, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills along with proven management skills are essential.
• Computer software skills desired: Microsoft Office, ARGUS valuation software.
• Exposure/experience to the CMBS industry is beneficial.
